FORESIGHT LUBRICANTS

SYNIONIC TECHNOLOGY

is the culmination of many advancements in lubrication technology that have occurred since the initial Prolong patent was filled, within which the previously volatile and corrosive nature of extreme pressure additives was stabilized. Extreme pressure (EP) additives are included in all oils to enhance their ability to withstand pressure and keep two working surfaces apart, but can only be used in very small amounts due to the fact that once they have been exposed to heat, which is unavoidable within an internal combustion engine for example, they break down to form hydrochloric acid, damaging the surface they were originally intended to protect. To combat this side affect, traditional oils have added further additives to compensate for the raised acidity, while also having to dissipate the heat generated as a result of the EP additive no longer functioning correctly and allowing metal on metal contact, which generates heat, and creates wear metals, the 2 key areas an oil is designed to prevent.
